♡ BKK Day 1 - 14th August, Thursday ♡

6:30 am - Bestie's sister fetched us including Benny & ღ to the
 airport.
finally our double date overseas trip (not counting our JB trips)
We're so lucky to be travelling with 4 frequent travellers to BKK, they brought us around to shop & have the best Thai food that they've already tried.
7:00 am - Check-in @  Changi Airport
9:10 am - Departure
mandatory flight shot
Yakult (probiotic drink) in giant size
ღ always have diarrhoea (traveller's diarrhoea) whenever we travel, this time round i didn't want him to feel unwell & can't enjoy our trip at ease. I read from forums & found something different from the usual advice like, "don't consume street food."
But BKK's street food are nicer & cheaper than restaurants. It's pointless going to BKK & not consume any street food.
The golden tip i got was:
"Drink the host country's yakult or yogurt to let your stomach get used to the food/water."
So the first drink we consume after touchdown was Yakult & ღ didn't had diarrhoea during the 5 days in BKK & even after we returned.
Perhaps the food in BKK is hygienic for his stomach but let's not take the risk, we shall do this for every other trip.

11:30 am - Arrival @ Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK
)
We then took the SA City Line from Suvarnabhumi Airport ➜ Lat Krabang  ➜ Ban Thap Chang ➜ Hua Mark ➜ Ramkhamhaeng ➜ Makkasan ➜ Rathchaprarop which costs 45฿  (1.8 SGD) per person.

They have 2 SA Express lines which costs 90฿ (3.60 SGD) for single trip & 150฿ (6 SGD) for round trip which is 2x more expensive & the waiting time for the train is at least 30-60 minutes long. We learnt our lesson the hard way when we're leaving from the hotel to the airport.

But the travelling time is 2x faster as it doesn't make stops in between but goes straight to Suvarnabhumi International Airport from Makkasan City Interchange Station.
we alighted @ Rathchaprarop Station
lugging my suitcase alone as ღ snap tons of photos
The 93 Hotel
93 Soi Somprasong (Petchburi 17 Rd) Pratunam, Pathumwan, Bangkok 10400
Every day we got to climb 2 flights of stairs as the escalator stops operating at who knows what hour at night.
4th to 5th floor
Another flight of stairs is from the 4th to 5th floor as the hotel's lift only goes up to the 4th level & our rooms are at the 5th floor.
The 93 Hotel is located at the heart of Pratunam but the amenities of the hotel isn't that great.
1st meal at BKK
The braised pork leg is super soft & not tough like the usual pork. Although we got to queue, it's only for a short while till we had seats as their service is fast.
So pleased that the interior is fully air-conditioned as it's blistering hot outside. The wanton noodle comes in dry or soup & i like both varieties equally.

5 wanton noodles + 2 pork leg rice = 500฿ (20SGD)
Sab X2 Wanton Noodles & Pork Leg Rice

Platinum Fashion Mall
Thailand's largest one stop wholesale shopping, opens at 8 or 9am to 8pm.
shop away!
ღ's backpack
@ 1250฿ (50 SGD)

ღ doesn't like to use his luggage & prefers to backpack but his backpack snaps so he bought a new one for such a steal with the help of Benny's bargaining.
200฿ (8 SGD) for 5 boxes of eyelid tape
(1.60 SGD per box)

Random photo of eyelid tape because i bought it at the shop name "Lashes" on
the left of Somtam Nua. I've been sticking eyelid tape for about 2 years as i have double eyelid on the left eye naturally but the right eye's double eyelid comes & goes, it only appears when i'm ill

Hello Kitty House Bangkok
@ Siam Square 1
10am - 10pm
We waited for a queue number but didn't try their food because it doesn't look appetizing. But we managed to walk around the whole shop as if visiting a Hello Kitty museum.
collage the decorations as i'm not a kitty lover
The Hello Kitty House is 3 stories high & they even have a nail salon at the basement. They're really good at earning Hello Kitty lovers' money.
love this shot with the Bestie

Abrupt ending of BKK Day 1, we return to our hotel at approximately 1 or 2am & the guys had to wake up before 7am to board the bus for their 12 hours trip of praying while the Bestie & i had sleepover, more shopping, nails' pampering & tea break while waiting for them to be back for dinner.
